United Advisers were proud to sponsor Chris Rose, seen here crossing the finishing line, in the amateur one day cycling event the ‘Etape du Tour’ which took place on 19th July 2015.
The event has already generated over €2,000 for three charities:La Banque Alimentaire Asbl (providing food for the needy),Een Haerz fir Kriibskrank Kanner (supporting families of children with cancer), and Mir Hellefen Asbl (fighting against multiple sclerosis).
The 144 km route mirrored the 19th stage of the 2015 Tour du France, starting in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and finishing at the mountain village of La Toussuire-Les Sybelle.
The route included four major climbs; Col du Chaussy, the Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, and the Col du Mollard. 9,000 of the 12,000 cyclists starting the gruelling ride in a blistering 35°C made it to the finish line.
In collaboration with Mike Maxwell, and in partnership with the former professional cyclist Tom Flammang (@ cycling.lu), the charity project aims to achieve over €1,000 for each of the three charities that will benefit.
Donations will be presented to the three charities in the last week of August, so there is still time for you to contribute to these very worthwhile causes; any amount will be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to add any donation you can to the charity bank account at the BCEE:
