The Sunflower Montessori Crèche hosted its annual charity Table Quiz at thPicture2e Black Stuff Irish Pub in Luxembourg on Saturday 27th June, with all proceeds going directly to the work of the Ilula Orphan Program (IOP) in Tanzania.

The IOP describe their program as:

(touching) the lives of thousands of vulnerable children in Tanzania and those who care for them with its sponsorship of foster family programs, orphan centre, preschool, and community development projects.  Through these programs, IOP is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and HIV in the region.

United Advisers have long had a relationship with the IOP; hosting a Promise Auction at the Check Inn for the charity last June and, in August 2014,  Managing Director, Paul Evans, swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco Bay for IOP.

The Table quiz was organised by the Sunflower Crèche, Luxembourg’s leading Montessori crèche founded in 2001.  Sunflower has built an exemplary reputation using the Montessori education method to provide the very best care and pre-school education available.

Sunflowers’ prime goal; to ensure each child realises their full potential, was put best by Dr. Montessori herself: “Our aim is not only to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core”.

IMG_7303webUnited Advisers were delighted to donate pearl jewellery from Lumo Pearls to the Table Auction.

We thought the pearls, from a unique collection of jewellery celebrating the natural beauty embodied in a pearl’s perfect imperfection, a particularly fitting contribution as, like each of the children in the Ilula Orphan Program, and each child in the Sunflower Creche, a pearl is unique and individual.

The event raised €3,265 for the Ilula Orphan Program in Tanzania. Staff from the Sunflower Montessori Crèche will travel to Tanzania this summer to help at the Ilula orphanage, spend time with sponsored children, and offer much needed support to all IOP’s community projects.
